What began as a hobby has turned into what I would consider a second job - finding a happy medium between discussion videos and compilations highlighted the best moments of Halo eSports, I consider my channel a hub for all-things Halo eSports-related. Stemming inspiration from the success of Fortnite in 2017, I have quickly become one of the bigger names of content creators within the Halo eSports world.
Virality Factor
One thing I noticed quickly with the explosion of Fortnite in 2017 was the rise of clip compilation videos. Simple videos, showing off the best moments of Fortnite whether it be through big-name streamers, or live events. Throughout time people have always enjoyed highlights for their convenience, however I feel in recent times this style of content has reached a new level, and hinted towards the growth of a new audience with a lower-attention span, such as with the rise of TikTok.
Taking the same formula of what made those videos work, I applied to Halo eSports live events. Having a green light from HCS themselves, some of these videos have become incredibly popular amongst the community, and top pros will even watch them on their streams from time to time.
Engaging Content
I personally believe a lot of people love comparisons. People are naturally fans of many things, and will undoubtedly argue over why their favorite team or player is "better" than other. This not only applies to eSports, but also to professional sports, tv shows, movies, and more. Naturally, I felt this approach would be beneficial to the channel, and it quickly opened up a channel of discussion that people were very engaged with.
